Acura TLX Ktuner 2.0t V1.2
The KTuner V1.2 sets itself up as a plug-and-play solution — no soldering or ECU box opening needed, making it ideal for DIY installers or enthusiasts.
• Backup first: Before flashing, always save the original ECU map. KTuner’s software allows easy reversion to stock if needed.
• Tune stages: Offer flexibility: from subtle throttle / turbo-response improvements (Stage 0 / 1) up to more aggressive boost + fuel/ignition mapping (higher stages), depending on modifications and fuel used.
• Compatibility check: Works only on 2021+ TLX 2.0T with the stock ECU. Do not attempt to flash on older TLX versions (with different engines / ECU).
• Warranty & legality: Flashing your ECU likely modifies factory settings and may void warranty or violate emissions/road-use regulations depending on your jurisdiction — inform customers accordingly.
✅ Supported Models & Fitment
• Vehicles: Acura TLX — 2.0-liter turbo (“2.0T”) models, second-generation (2021–present) facelift/reloads.
• Engine / Drivetrain: 2.0-L DOHC VTEC Turbo-4, paired with the factory 10-speed automatic (the standard TLX 2.0T drivetrain configuration) and FWD or AWD as equipped.
• KTuner Hardware: Works with the ECU of 2021+ TLX 2.0T — flash-based tuning via the OBD-II port using the all-in-one touchscreen device (no internal ECU soldering needed).
⚠️ Note: As of now, the 2.0T-TLX is the supported TLX variant for flash-based tuning. The earlier TLX generations (pre-2021) used different engines and ECU configurations, so compatibility with those is not guaranteed under this product configuration.
🛠️ Install Guide — Step-by-Step
Below is a structured install guide. For marketing or user-manual usage, you can integrate the images above as figure references (e.g. “See image 3 for OBD-II port location”)
|
Step |
Action |
Tip / Note |
|
1 |
Park the car on a flat surface. Turn off ignition and remove key. |
Ensure engine and ignition are off to avoid ECU communication issues. |
|
2 |
Locate the OBD-II port under the driver side dashboard (left foot-well). |
On TLX 2021+, it’s easily accessible — you typically don’t need to remove panels. (See install-guide image set.) |
|
3 |
Plug the KTuner V2 unit into the OBD-II port firmly until seated. |
The connection should “click” — firm and solid for proper communication. |
|
4 |
Connect the USB cable (if required) to laptop or to vehicle power (depending on setup). |
Ensure cables are routed away from pedals/steering to avoid interference. |
|
5 |
Power on ignition (without starting engine) to allow KTuner to communicate with the ECU. |
Do not start the engine yet. Wait for KTuner to initialize and recognize the ECU. |
|
6 |
Launch the KTuner software and refresh ECU data — backup stock map to a named profile. |
Always keep a “stock backup” before applying any tune, for future resets. |
|
7 |
Select the appropriate basemap for “2021+ TLX 2.0T” and preferred tune stage (Stage 0, 1, etc.). |
If you upgraded mod hardware (intake, exhaust, etc.), choose tune stage accordingly. |
|
8 |
Start the flashing process — do not turn off ignition or disconnect the device until complete. |
Interrupting the flash can brick the ECU. |
|
9 |
Once complete, safely remove KTuner from OBD port, start the engine, and monitor for check-engine lights / abnormal behavior. |
If anything seems wrong, revert to stock map and double-check compatibility. |
|
10 |
Test-drive carefully, pay attention to throttle response, boost behavior, and drive-mode changes. |
Retune if adding aftermarket hardware later — never drive on unsuitable settings. |
